About Maria Long

Music has always been a huge influence in Maria's life. During her childhood years her parents were traveling musicians and toured all over the US. At age 2, Maria wrote her first song. She has performed on countless stages and her passion for making music that speaks to the heart came early in her life when she experienced the struggle of finding her purpose and way in this world.

Maria's lyrics are personal and vulnerable about her experiences and struggles with God. They are clear because Maria never wants people to be mistaken about where she stands. "Christ is everything to me!" she states. She views her music ministry as more than just an opportunity to perform the songs and do music. She believes that God has given her these musical talents to speak out on issues that are affecting teens today like: suicide, sex, drugs, and lack of purpose. Through her sharing of the stories behind her songs, Maria gives her audience a meaningful experience that they can all relate with, and challenges them to STANDOUT for God and be different.

Since the release of Maria's debut album, Here With Me in 2006, CCM Magazine named her one of the top 10 independent artists in music today. EMI put her song, Here With Me on a cd featuring their pick for the top 15 independent artists, and the Gospel Music Channel used two of Maria's songs on their show, "Revolve Rockin the Road." Maria has also won the Christian stage for Famecast.com three times in a row and been nominated for independent artist of the year by CCM magazine.

Currently, Maria is working on recording her new album and four of her new songs were produced by Mark Jackson Productions. "Find Me" is one of her new singles expected to hit radio this February. Maria shares that "Find Me" deals specifically with divorce/breaking up and being left behind by someone you love. "All of my songs, especially "Find Me" are meant to bring hope and show people that they are not alone on this journey of life, Maria states."

Currently, Maria Long is not only pursuing music but getting her masters degree in counseling. She has ministered to hundreds of teens on facebook and myspace, and has answered questions of those who are having difficult times or simply seeking someone who cares and can give advice. Maria Long has a bright future ahead of her. She often says, "God is blessing me faster than I can give Him credit." God is opening many doors for Maria's music, her life, and ministry and as long as He continues to open them she will step through…
